Zack Kassian didn’t take to kindly to a big hit from Calgary’s Matthew Tkachuk

Kassian was certainly played and you're right that all that matters in the end is the W. I just can't believe Calgary's double standards... The way that they carried on last season after Dumba hit (cleanly, mind you) Backlund, then was made to 'answer the bell' by fighting Tkuchuk after the opening face off in their next meeting. Dumba injured his peck, missed the entire rest of the season and hasn't been the same since. I see that Kassian's first game back just happens to be against Calgary. Should be a good opening to that one!

Oilers fan here. I love Zack's aggressive play but this was ill discipline at a bad time. A 3 - 3 game and cost us a goal in the powerplay. Now we lose him for two matches. While I agree that Tkachuk should have dropped the gloves, history will say not doing so probably won his team the game.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I feel for Kassian. You can’t hit someone on the ground sure, but for Tkuchuk to deliver multiple blindside hits like that, then refuse to answer the bell when confronted, is garbage.
