The title may have eluded Lewis Hamilton in Austin seven days ago, though are no doubts that come the end of the 71-lap Mexican Grand Prix, the Briton will be a five-time world champion. Join The Roar for live coverage from 6am (AEDT).

A minimum finish of seventh is all that’s required for the Mercedes AMG driver to sew it up, regardless of where his rival Sebastian Vettel finishes the race.

However, the onus has been on Red Bull this weekend and their dominance at a circuit where the power-unit performance is nullified – due to the high altitude of the 4.3km circuit.

2017 saw Max Verstappen put on a masterclass for his most dominant victory yet in Formula One, all while his rivals seemingly tripped over each other.

This time, it’ll be Daniel Ricciardo who will start from his third career pole position, leading a Red Bull front-row lockout – with Hamilton and Vettel sharing the second row.

Ricciardo hasn’t stood on the podium this year since his victory in Monaco and has had a horror run of five retirements in the past ten races. Given that the Aussie only has three races left before he leaves Red Bull for Renault – there will be pride on the line.

Tyres have been a talking point already this weekend and if conditions are to be blistering for the race, then there is concern over the durability of the hypersoft tyres – which most of the top-ten will find themselves starting on.

Only the two Mercedes AMGs have gambled on starting with the ultrasoft tyres, though as seen in Austin with Hamilton, he will be beaten off the line by the cars starting on the pink tyres.

In the midfield, Renault will start as the best of the rest with a chance for another haul of points, which would secure their position in the constructor’s championship – given that both Haas cars will start well outside the top ten.

Renault also have enjoyed having less emphasis on the power-unit this weekend and a strong race can be expected from Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz.

Similarly, both Saubers can expect a good race with their drivers rounding out the top ten. Though the threat from Force India and in particular Sergio Perez, being the sole Mexican driver on the grid will be large.

With Austin having been a cracker of a race, the expectation is for Red Bull to deliver another enthralling grand prix.

Tune in on The Roar from 6am (AEDT) for live coverage of the Mexican Grand Prix and what will likely be Lewis Hamilton’s coronation for a fifth world championship.
