How Jess Fox used a condom to fix her damaged kayak
Australian slalom canoeist Jess Fox has revealed in an Instagram video how a condom proved an unlikely saviour in her attempts to repair her kayak.
The 27-year old, who won a bronze medal in the Women’s slalom K-1 event, showed how her team successfully repaired her kayak’s damaged nose ahead of her event, using the condom to hold a carbon mixture in place.
Fox is hoping to win an elusive gold medal in Thursday’s Women’s slalom C-1 event which starts at 1:45pm AEST. The final will be on at approximately 5:15pm.
