WATCH: Ariarne Titmus' family (and coach) go gloriously ballistic watching gold medal swim

Australian Ariarne Titmus has beaten USA champion Katie Ledecky to claim Olympic gold in the women’s 400m final.

A superb finish to the race saw Titmus overtake the reigning champion and world record holder in the final 100 metres, in what has been described as one of the great swims by an Australian.

Titmus’ finished with a time of 3:56:69 – 0.67 seconds ahead of her great rival.

Her coach Dean Boxall has since gone viral around the world for the way he celebrated the win.
