WATCH: Jess Fox's Dad breaks down in commentary after his daughter wins gold
After all the expectations of trying to win gold in her pet event with the K1 kayak class, Jess Fox had arguably even more pressure in the C1 final.
It was a brutal course and it seemed to work in Fox’s favour as her competitors struggled.
Fox had the benefit of going last again as the fastest qualifier and she delivered when it mattered most.
Her Dad Richard was commentating the final just like he did in the heartbreaking K1 final.
He remained composed when his daughter won but he let it all out at the end.
“She’s such a good paddler, such a good person,” he said before pausing to regather himself.
