Mer De Glace has stormed past Finche early in the straight and streaked away to win the 2019 Caulfield Cup.
The Japanese runner, trained by Hisashi Shimizu and ridden by Damien Lane, winning his first Caulfield Cup, took the victory from Vow and Declar in second, and Mirage Dancer in third.
It adds to a Golden Slipper win, as well as success overseas, for Lane.
“I’m forever grateful that they bought him out here,” said Lane.
