The Brisbane Broncos are looking to get back in the winners’ circle, but the Sydney Roosters will be stiff opposition for Anthony Siebold’s men. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from 7:50pm (AEST)

The Broncos dished up a meek effort in their return to the NRL arena last Thursday night, managing only one try against the Eels at home. Brisbane struggled with the pace of the new six-again rule, offered little penetration with their kicking game, and bombed a couple of try-scoring opportunities.

The Roosters, on the other hand, were mightily impressive against Souths, showing little in common with the side which struggled out of the gate to an 0-2 start to the season. In particular, Kyle Flanagan and Luke Keary were a more coherent, cohesive halves pairing, indicating the duo will continue to improve as the year goes on.

The Chooks have been dealt a massive late injury blow, with reigning Dally M medallist James Tedesco ruled out after waking up with a temperature this morning. That’s caused a backline reshuffle and seen reserve winger Ryan Hall brought into the match-day side.

The Broncos have injury woes of their own, too, with Alex Glenn once again on the sidelines. The luckless captain sustained a nasty leg laceration last week which required surgery. Brodie Croft will skipper the side in Glenn’s absence.

There’s also a change at hooker, with Jake Turpin suffering a fractured tibia that will sideline him for at least a month. Cory Paix will make his debut in Turpin’s place.
