Show Preview

Two former Penrith Panthers assistant coaches clash against each other in Sydney Olympic Park as the Canterbury Bulldogs host the New Zealand Warriors. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 6pm AEST.

The Bulldogs have shown some fight over their past few wins, grinding out an impressive victory in windy Wollongong before narrowly losing to Canberra Raiders in Magic Round. In a huge boost for the hosts, Josh Addo-Carr returns early from a syndesmosis injury caused during the Bulldogs Good Friday clash earlier in the year.

After a positive start to the 2023 NRL season, the Warriors are currently on a three match losing streak. The Auckland based franchise are desperate to head back to New Zealand with another two points in the bag. Jackson Ford (concussion protocols) and Edward Kosi (knee) are out due to injuries. Josh Curran is promoted to the starting lineup while Rocco Berry enters the Warriors backline. Ronald Volkman partners Shaun Johnson in the halves as Dylan Walker is demoted to the bench.

Prediction

Both teams are unsure where the 2023 season heads come September. Granted, the difference between third and fifteenth is only four points after ten rounds, but a loss would be gut wrenching for both teams, especially the Bulldogs. However, with the addition of Addo-Carr alongside the Warriors having to travel outside of Auckland for the second time in less than 14 days, a Bulldogs victory is the likelier option. Bulldogs by 4.
