The Canterbury Bulldogs head into their clash with bitter rivals the Parramatta Eels with renewed confidence following last week’s drought-breaking victory. Stay up to speed with every point via our live scores page on The Roar from 5:30pm (AEST).
Emotions ran high after the Bulldogs secured their first victory for 2021 last week, an 18-12 triumph over the Sharks at last giving new coach Trent Barrett something to smile about.
They will likely find the going even tougher to make it two wins on the trot against the high-flying Eels, though Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is a welcome return after missing last week with a leg infection. He will, however, start in the reserves.
The Eels have a familiar face of their own to welcome back, with Ryan Matterson taking a bench spot in his first NRL game since being knocked out by the Storm’s Felise Kaufusi in Round 2.
Brad Arthur’s men have been on a tear of late, scoring a whopping 81 points in their past fortnight in big wins over the Raiders and Broncos respectively, and with the Bulldogs having conceded the second-most points of any team this year, they will doubtless sense a chance to add to their recent try-scoring ways.
