The Gold Coast Titans are looking for a rebound, but they’re up against the red-hot South Sydney Rabbitohs at Cbus Super Stadium. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 6pm (AEST).
After looking like the finals side many had them pegged as in a 42-16 demolition of Newcastle, Gold Coast put in their worst effort in some time last Saturday – an unfathomable 36-0 loss to the hapless Sea Eagles. It’s early days, but the Titans are starting to garner a reputation as downhill skiers and need to put in a heads-down, tails-up effort to reclaim some respect tonight.
South Sydney suffered a major scare against Wests Tigers last week, but were good enough to get the job done in golden point and claim their fifth win in a row. The Rabbitohs sit second on the NRL ladder coming into Round 7 and have been impressive defensively, giving up just 20 points across their last three matches – a record they’ll want to maintain tonight.
It was a 32-12 defeat for the Titans when they played Souths last season – their fifth loss in a row (and tenth from the last 12) against the Bunnies. The Rabbitohs have won their last five matches at Cbus Super Stadium, last losing in 2009 – their first game at the ground.
