Round 4 of the NRL kicks off tonight when the Manly Sea Eagles host the Penrith Panthers at Lottoland. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 8:05pm (AEDT).

You’d be hard pressed to find two teams in the NRL experiencing more different starts to 2021. Penrith have picked up where they left off last year’s home-and-away season, while Manly seem to be lurching from one disaster to another.

Sure, the Dragons look to have improved this year, but a 38-12 drubbing last week left Sea Eagles fans in no doubt as to where they stand.

Daly Cherry-Evans and Kieran Foran are still struggling to create enough chances, but you can hardly blame them for the 66 per cent completion rate. That’s where the Sea Eagles need to improve.

Des Hasler has resisted mass changes, with Morgan Boyle coming onto the bench. Toafofoa Sipley is the one player to have been dropped from the squad.

Many thought the loss of Nathan Cleary would lead to the Panthers’ downfall last round against the Storm. How wrong were we? This team just finds ways to win.

While Cleary provides the base, it’s Jarome Luai who creates the most problems for opposition defences. His combination with Viliame Kikau, Stephen Crichton and Brian To’o on the left edge is simply too good for most teams.

Crichton moves to fullback this week to cover the loss of Dylan Edwards. Matt Burton has been named in the centres and Nathan Cleary returns at halfback.

Prediction
The Sea Eagles are a better team at Brookvale but there is a significant gulf between these two teams.

It’s hard to see anything other than a big Panthers win
