In the second last game of round 14 in the NRL, the Manly Sea Eagles play host to the St George Illawarra Dragons at Brookvale. Join The Roar from 2pm (AEST) for live scores and coverage of the game.

It’s 7th hosting 12th out at Brookvale (Lottoland) Oval, and the Manly Sea Eagles continue to punch above their weight.

That the Sea Eagles are in the top eight with the horror run of injuries they have suffered is a testament to the quality of the coaching that Des Hasler has brought back to the northern shores.

However, now with the inclusion of the likes of Tom Trbojevic, eager for an Origin recall, and Daly Cherry-Evans, hot off Origin 1 game-winning form, the Sea Eagles come home with improved forces ready to notch another win for the 2019 Manly season.

Manly managed to pull off a memorable two-point win over the Cowboys up in Townsville in the last round.

So coming back home, the Sea Eagles will like their chances of adding another win for a strong finish to the season after the post-Origin bye round.

Of course, the opponents that Manly are facing are a curious beast.

Off the back of three losses in a row, Manly put the Bulldogs to the sword last Monday, playing with an open free-flowing style that this team is more than capable of.

The issue for the Dragons this season though has been one of consistency.

St George Illawarra have suffered significant losses against teams fighting for top 8 positions, in formidable teams such as NewZealand, Newcastle, and Cronulla.

So beating a wooden spoon contender is all good and well, but the Dragons need to show they can do it against teams in form.

Today will be another big game for Ben Hunt, who much like Cherry-Evans, is coming off an Origin game I win.

Hunt will be eager to take his rep form into the clubland arena.

Prediction
Manly being in good form will like their chances of confirming their top eight position with a win at home against a team well below them on the table.

Manly by 12.
