Round 7 of the NRL Premiership winds up this ANZAC Day evening when the Melbourne Storm take on the New Zealand Warriors at AAMI Park in Melbourne. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7.00pm AEST.

This is probably, and a little unfairly, the poor cousin of the two ANZAC Day clashes. Though less steeped in tradition, it is fitting to see two sides from opposite sides of the Tasman take each other on.

The Melbourne Storm confirmed themselves as premiership heavyweights last weekend after a 34-18 defeat of Cronulla. The Sharks weren’t that bad but the Storm were able to make the most of their chances.

The future of Cameron Munster has been hotly debated but it hasn’t impacted his skill on the field. He arguably had his best game in years last Saturday night and he was the difference between the two sides.

The Bromwich brothers return from COVID protocols for this game with Brandon Smith and Trent Loiero both moving back to the bench.

The Warriors pushed the Roosters all the way last Sunday afternoon but ultimately fell short 22-14. They sit on the fringe of the top 8.

The Warriors boast a strong pack of forwards and they will need to get on top of their opponents tonight to give Shuan Johnson and Reece Walsh enough time to shine.

In team changes, Matt Lodge returns from injury, relegating Aaron Pene to the bench and Tanielo Otukolo to the reserves. Jazz Tevaga has been named in the reserves and may yet be elevated to the 17 man squad.

Prediction

Both teams will be up for this game so it should be good quality.

The Storm and Panthers look untouchable at the moment, and that trend will continue this weekend.

The Storm just have too many match winners.

Melbourne Storm by 20.
