The New Zealand Warriors are looking to celebrate Simon Mannerring’s 300th game for the club in style when they take on the in-form Canberra Raiders. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting at 6pm (AEST).

The Warriors secured their first finals appearance since 2011 last week with a commanding 36-16 over the Panthers and could book a home final if they topple the Raiders.

It was an impressive performance, given they were without five-eighth Blake Green, whose calming influence has been critical to the side’s success this year.

All eyes were on halfback Shaun Johnson and the 27-year old stood up, constantly threatening Penrith’s defence with his speed and footwork.

If a home final isn’t enough motivation for Stephen Kearney’s men, they will also look to send retiring forward Simon Mannering out with a win, in what could be his final game at Mt Smart Stadium.

But they won’t have it all their way against a Raiders side that has won two-straight against premiership contenders.

Ricky Stuart’s men have continued what has been a frustrating season, but not because they were blowing leads like they did in their last meeting with the Warriors.

Rather, the Canberra faithful would be irritated that, with nothing to play for, the Raiders have finally started to fulfil their potential, having claimed back-to-back wins over the Roosters and Rabbitohs.

However, both victories were at GIO Stadium, so it will be interesting to see how they fare away from the nation’s capital, having only won three of 11 games on the road in 2018.

The Raiders will also be farewelling five-eighth Blake Austin, who is heading to England at the end of the year.

Prediction
Canberra have been impressive in recent weeks, but doubts remain over whether they can maintain the rage away from home.

With so much on the line, the Warriors should do enough.

Warriors by 10.
