The New Zealand Warriors will be looking to start a season with consecutive wins for just the fourth time in club history when they face the Newcastle Knights on the Central Coast. Join The Roar for live scores from 6pm (AEDT).
The Warriors have been getting more and more comfortable in the confines of their home away from home, Central Coast Stadium, winning five of their last nine at the venue. Making it six from ten with a victory today won’t be easy though – the Knights looked in impressive form last week, racking up five tries in an easy win over the Bulldogs.
Making matters trickier for the Kiwis is the injury to key signing Euan Aitken. The centre picked up a bad ankle sprain in the season opener and faces two or three months on the sideline. Adam Pompey comes into the side in Aitken’s absence.
Newcastle, on the other hand, have gone with the same 17 which got the job done last week, albeit with a positional change: Connor Watson will start at lock, with Sauaso Sue moving back to the bench.
