The New Zealand Warriors face the Wests Tigers in pre-season NRL trial action. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3pm (AEDT).

The Wests Tigers enter their first trial match of the pre-season with a near full-strength squad when they travel across the ditch to face the Warriors in Whangarei.

New coach Michael MacGuire will be eager to see just how the combinations on which they have worked over the break hold up against top class NRL opposition.

The Warriors lost a close match to the Storm just ten days ago and looked a little clunky in their attacking structures.

They too enter the match at something near full strength and captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck makes his first appearance for the season.

The Tigers faithful will be keen to see how the old firm look after father time has added another full calendar year to their bodies.

Robbie Farah and Benji Marshall will back up once again yet the Tigers have plenty of young talent on the books and MacGuire will be keen to see which of them grab hold of this opportunity and cement a spot in the Round 1 team.

The Warriors will be seeking in improved performance as they also build towards the start of the competition.

Bunty Afoa and Adam Keighran were impressive against the Storm and will be attempting to convince Stephen Kearney that they deserve a spot in the opening week.

Prediction
Knowing that plenty of substitutions will take place in this match and experimental nature of it for both coaches, tipping is fraught with danger.

However, the Warriors will potentially be a little better prepared for this one, being a week or so advanced in their preparations.
