Thursday night? That must mean the Brisbane Broncos are in action. Tonight, they make the trip to Central Coast Stadium to take on the Newcastle Knights. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:50pm (AEST).

After a horrid two weeks following the competition restart, the Broncos were a much-improved side against the Sea Eagles, going down in a narrow loss after taking an early lead. They return to the same venue of that defeat for this Round 6 clash against a Knights side also coming off a loss.

Newcastle had been undefeated until last week, only for the Storm to dint their unblemished record. The Knights, though, can take plenty of solace from the fact it took a ruthless Melbourne outfit to hand them their first defeat of the season.

Adam O’Brien’s side will be boosted by the return of Lachlan Fitzgibbon in the second row. Aiden Guerra has been shifted to the bench and Brodie Jones out of the team to make room for that inclusion, but otherwise it’s an unchanged side with plenty of attacking threats. It will also be the first time Knights hooker Andrew McCullough faces his former side since leaving the Broncos a month ago.

Brisbane have two second-row inclusions of their own tonight, powerful forward Tevita Pangai Junior and skipper Alex Glenn both coming straight back into the run-on side. With Joe Ofahengaue and Ben Te’o on the pine, there’s actually some decent forward depth for the Broncos for the first time in a long time.

Although he was named in the reserves, Issac Luke is expected to make his club debut from the bench tonight after a transfer from the Dragons.

It’s not all good news for Anthony Siebold, though, with Kotoni Staggs out with a hamstring injury. Corey Oates is back on the wing as a result after a week with the forwards, while Herbie Farnworth has moved one position in, coming into the centres.
