The Newcastle Knights look to string together three straight wins for the first time this season when they host the floundering North Queensland Cowboys. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:05pm (AEST).
The Knights come into this one after notching rare back-to-back wins to remain in the hunt for the top four.
The Cowboys produced an improved effort last week, but it wasn’t enough to give caretaker coach Josh Hannay his first win in charge.
The Cowboys will have fond memories of playing the Knights – their last win came against them all the way back in Round 7.
Injury has again struck Daniel Saifiti, whose place in Newcastle’s run-on side is taken by his brother Jacob. There’s only one change for the Cowboys, with Reuben Cotter replacing Jake Granville on the bench.
Few would argue that Blake Green was an astute signing to shore up the Knight’s injury-ravaged spine. However, the journeyman half still has a point to prove after being dumped by the New Zealand Warriors – a team desperate for players. Helping his new side to a third straight win would be an ideal way to silence the doubters.
