The North Queensland Cowboys will look to climb out of the bottom four against the winless Canterbury Bulldogs at QCB Stadium. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 4:05pm (AEST).
Having looked hopeless in their first four games of the season – all comprehensive losses – the Cowboys flicked a switch against the Tigers last week to storm out to a 28-6 lead at half time. They had to hold on for dear life in the end, but it was inspired performance world’s away from the unacceptable dross they’d been serving up previously.
The Bulldogs may have snapped a streak of three straight scoreless games last week, but they surrendered 52 to the Melbourne Storm to extend their winless start to five matches. Canterbury look a clear class below just about every other team in the competition and are quickly moving to become the unbackable wooden spoon favourites. They’ll see today’s game as winnable, however.
North Queensland have won seven of their last nine against the Bulldogs, including last year’s meeting 24-16. The Dogs have lost on three of their last four visits to Townsville, although this is their first game at the new stadium.
