Round 11 gets underway tonight when the North Queensland Cowboys host the Newcastle Knights at Queensland Country Bank Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:50pm (AEST).

Just a few weeks ago, no-one would have guessed that these sides would be on equal wins after ten rounds. Yet, that is the situation we are in.

Whilst the Cowboys appear a team on the improve, the Knights look to be on the slide.

The Cowboys did lose to the Roosters in Magic Round but the game was closer than the score suggested. The Cowboys were less clinical in their last tackle plays and it cost them in the end.

On the bright side, Jason Taumalolo has returned to the team in good form, Valentine Holmes is starting to deliver on his promise and Reece Robson is also playing his best football.

In team changes, Coen Hess failed his HIA against the Roosters and will sit out this weekend, to be replaced by Tom Gilbert. Heilum Luki comes onto the interchange for his NRL debut.

The Knights, on the other hand, will be looking for some answers after being thumped 36-18 by the Wests Tigers last start.

Newcastle were missing some key attacking players but their defence was the problem, with the Wests pack outplaying their more fancied Knights rivals.

Adam O’Brien resisted making mass changes, giving his line up one more chance. Hymel Hunt is sidelined through injury, with his place taken by Brayden Musgrove.

Prediction
The Cowboys’ mediocre home record gives the Knights some chance but Todd Payten’s team are a much improved unit compared to earlier in the season.

By the end of this one, they will be ahead of the Knights on the ladder.

Cowboys by 8.
