Both sides head into this game in decent form. North Queensland upset the Roosters last weekend, while Souths finally got back to winning ways by beating Manly.

It’s been a difficult start to the season for the Cowboys, who are in 12th place on the ladder. But they are starting to scrap together some results and move closer towards the top eight.

For the Bunnies, they started 2019 like a house on fire. Injuries and State of Origin absentees have certainly slowed their momentum over the past six weeks.

But a four-game losing streak was snapped against the Sea Eagles and currently they still set in second spot. They remain one of the teams to beat in the competition.

North Queensland have made only one change to the team which won last weekend with Javid Bowen shifting from wing to centre to replace Jordan Kahu, and Murray Taulagi comes onto the wing for his NRL debut.

Skipper Michael Morgan and Dan Russell both drop out of the squad.

The Rabbitohs are still without Sam Burgess but Ethan Lowe returns in the back row with Dean Britt moving to prop to fill the hole left by the suspended Liam Knight.

Mark Nicholls has been added to the bench and Bayley Sironen is out.

If the Cowboys are to make the eight this year, now is the time to strike against a Souths outfit missing two Burgess’.

Prediction
The Cowboys have been improving and look better with Jake Clifford running the show. But Souths are the better all-round squad and should get the business down. Souths to win by eight points.
