Saturday night footy sees the Parramatta Eels and Cronulla Sharks go head-to-head in an intriguing Round 3 matchup. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 7:35pm (AEDT).

They were far from impressive after being forced to come from 16-0 against the reigning wooden spooners, Brisbane, in Round 1 – but last week’s win over the reigning premiers, Melbourne, means the Eels are the talk of the town. Parramatta proved tough and miserly in the wet conditions – their vaunted defence holding up again. They’ll face a test tonight against a high-octane side in Cronulla.

The Sharks are unlucky not to also be undefeated coming into tonight’s match – with poor kicking for goal ultimately costing them what would’ve been a stirring win over Canberra last week. John Morris’ side looked the goods against the Dragons in Round 1, but have a tough month of football coming up and may rue that clash as the one that got away – unless they spring an upset tonight.

Parramatta edged past the Sharks 14-12 when they met last year in eerily similar circumstances to Cronulla’s loss last week – they scored three tries, but converted none, allowing the Eels to escape with the points. This is the first time these sides have played at Bankwest Stadium.
