The Eels have bounced back into top form after an upset loss to St George Illawarra a month ago, brushing aside Canberra, Brisbane and Canterbury in a strong three weeks. Parramatta have been flying under the radar all season but, the longer the season goes on, the more they need to be viewed as genuine premiership contenders.
The Roosters have done well to battle through a host of serious injuries to star players – and were electric against Newcastle last week – but the consensus looks to be that the medical maladies will catch up with them eventually. This will be their first test against a top side since they took on Melbourne in Round 6 – a match they were comprehensively beaten in.
The Eels have dropped four straight matches against the Roosters – including a 24-10 loss at this venue in last year’s only meeting. The Roosters boast a perfect 5-0 record at Western Sydney Stadium, although they’ve only played Parramatta at the ground once.
