Show Preview

The North Queensland Cowboys will look to climb out of the bottom four against the winless Canterbury Bulldogs at QCB Stadium. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 4:05pm (AEST).

Despite predictions of a biblical blow-out, Penrith were made to work exceptionally hard against the Broncos last week and only won by a score of 20-12. As underwhelming as it was, their imperious defence was on full show again, with the undefeated Panthers conceding 12 points to bring their season average to just over six points shipped per game.

Kalyn Ponga’s heroics lifted Newcastle to a narrow win over Cronulla, but the Knights are still a very hard team to get a read on after a disappointing four weeks. Close losses to the Tigers and Dragons, followed by a belting at the hands of Gold Coast, mean the Knights enter Round 7 outside the top and in need of a spark to get their season rolling.

A 14-14 draw in their last meeting means the Knights were famously the only team not to lose to Penrith last season, although the Panthers had won a whopping nine of 11 meetings prior to that. The Knights have won on just one of their last five visits to Panthers Stadium, whereas the home side have won 11 in a row at the ground.
