NRL action heads to the southern part of Queensland that is the Sunshine Coast as the South Sydney Rabbitohs face off against the New Zealand Warriors. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3pm (AEST).

Following a game where the Rabbitohs would have regretted losing with the field position they had against the Sharks, they will be hurting and looking to bounce back as quickly as possible.

However, the hosts will have to do so without a few players – with Tom Burgess (suspension) and Jed Cartwright (hamstring) ruled out of contention against the Warriors.

Lachlan Ilias has bounced back well after the Rabbitohs were embarrassed on a windy night in Wollongong earlier in the season as the Rabbitohs will need his kicking game to lead the way if they are to win.

Although the Warriors fell well short against the Storm at home, they did give it their all for the duration of the contest, and will take some confidence leading into this clash. However, unpredictable is the best way to describe the Warriors, as they have rarely produced consistency this season in terms of results and effort.

Shaun Johnson had a great game last week and with Chanel Haris-Tevita ruled out through injury, responsibility falls on the halfback to step up once again and outperform the opposition halfback.

Prediction

Both teams are coming off losses and want to get back into the winning groove. But the Rabbitohs look a much better outfit ever since Latrell Mitchell returned from his stint on the sidelines from injury and Covid-19.

The superstar has had a knack of breaking games open with sheer brilliance and he will want to do that once again.

Should other results go their way, Rabbitohs will finish Round 21 of the 2022 NRL season in fifth position.

Rabbitohs by 6.
