The NRL action continues tonight with the match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Newcastle Knights, coming to you from Bankwest Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 5:30pm (AEST).

Both these teams would have set their goals recently as top four, which is why this match is so important. The winner gets to stay in touch with the top four. The loser most likely falls more than one win away from their aim.

The Rabbitohs have struggled to achieve their best this season but definitely showed glimpses last weekend against the Tigers. When Adam Reynolds runs the ball, the rest of the Rabbitohs’ attack seems to fall into place.

The entire Rabbitohs spine was good last week, with Damien Cook playing his best game in weeks.

In team news, Latrell Mitchell is out due to suspension and they also lose Campbell Graham to a facial injury. Alex Johnston switches to fullback, Dane Gagai moves to centre and a new wing pairing of Corey Allan and debutant Jaxson Paulo has been named.

Adam O’Brien has toughened up this Knights team, and they went close to the Eels last weekend. However, the attack looked a bit safe and they struggled to score points in front of their home crowd.

Their pack continue to be up with the best, but Mitchell Pearce and Kalyn Ponga are not stamping their influence on the game.

Daniel Saifiti is missing this week but the cavalry has returned to some extent, with Connor Watson, Mitch Barnett and Sione Mata’utia all named.

Prediction
The Rabbitohs have been building and I expect them to be close to their best this weekend.

The return of Connor Watson should create more variety in the Knights’ attack and lead to more points.

However, I think Souths may just get home in this one.

South Sydney Rabbitohs by two.
