Round 11 of the NRL Premiership continues this afternoon when the St George Illawarra Dragons host the New Zealand Warriors at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3.00pm AEST.

Magic Round wasn’t so magical for either of these sides, with both of them missing out on a win. For that reason, this match becomes very important. The loser here will begin to lose touch with the top 8.

The Dragons had it all to play for against the Titans last weekend and instead returned home with a golden point loss.

After a mini revival, the Dragons have lost two straight and are struggling for consistency. They will need big games from the likes of Ben Hunt and Jack Bird this afternoon to get their season back on track.

For the Dragons, Cody Ramsey comes in for Tyrell Sloan at fullback, with Jack Gosiewski in for the injured Josh McGuire. Michael Molo, Francis’ younger brother, will make his NRL debut from the bench.

The NZ Warriors are a complete enigma. The last month has featured a 60 point loss, a golden point win, a loss against 12 men and a second half comeback that fell just short of perfect. We just don’t know what they are going to produce on a weekly basis.

Responsibility surely rests with Addin Fonua-Blake especially after the departure of Matt Lodge in the front row.

Euan Aitken returns from a head knock, whilst Chanel Harris-Tavita has been named in the reserves and is a chance of playing.

Prediction

Only the very brave would pick the New Zealand Warriors.

I don’t fit into that category and the Dragons may find something close to their best at their spiritual home.
