The Sydney Roosters head to Kogarah to tackle their old rivals the St George Illawarra Dragons. Join The Roar from 7:30pm (AEST) for all the action and live scores.

It’s a clear mismatch at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium as the Chooks tussle with the Dragons.

Trent Robinson’s men are flying high in second spot on the table. While they have Canberra breathing down their necks for a top-two position, they are going well ahead of the semis.

The Roosters dispatched the Warriors easily last weekend and have won five on the bounce. They are looking the goods and might be the only team well-equipped to better the Storm.

In contrast, the Dragons have been meandering towards the end of a tough season.

While they showed guts last weekend against Cronulla, they made far too many basic errors. They are playing for pride with a top-eight finish well out of the reach.

Sitting second bottom, they won’t win the wooden spoon but it has still been a diabolical campaign for them.

The Red V might need a miracle in this one, with their home fans fed up as well.

Coach Paul McGregor is under huge pressure but he has made some changes this week – starting Jackson Ford and dropping Mikaele Ravalawa, with Jonus Pearson coming in.

Both Englishmen James Graham and Gareth Widdop have made an impact since returning from injury, and ‘Mary’ will be hoping they can pull off a big upset.

The Roosters are virtually at full fitness, minus skipper Boyd Cordner and hooker Jake Friend.

Sam Verrills will play at 9 with Mitch Aubusson partnering Angus Crichton in the second-row.

With James Tedesco in fine form, Cooper Cronk and Luke Keary pulling the strings in the halves, and Latrell Mitchell getting back to his best, this could be a long night for St George Illawarra.

Prediction
The Roosters are a well-oiled machine and poised for another grand final appearance. The Dragons will try hard but won’t get near them.

Roosters to win by 18 points.
