Match preview:

The Wests Tigers will be desperate to keep up in the race for a top-eight spot when they take on the St George Illawarra Dragons at the SCG. Join The Roar from 4:05pm AEST for live scores and commentary.

The Dragons have had a rough season. The only silver lining at this point is that the Wooden Spoon has already been decided.

St George have won just seven games all season, the second-least of any team in the NRL after the last-placed Gold Coast Titans.

However they still have chance to make an impact on the top eight. A win over the Wests Tigers could kill their finals chances, before they face the Titans in a bottom of the table clash in the final week.

Patrick Kaufusi is back in the squad so Jacon Host won’t be playing, while Ben Hunt has been named as a reserve after missing out last week due to a concussion.

This is a must-win game for the Tigers.

They will have the same 17-man squad that smashed the Newcastle Knights last week, so they should have plenty of momentum going into a game against a wounded Dragons side.

The Tigers had a near-perfect game against the Knights, leading 46-nil at one point. David Nofoaluma bagged three tries before Newcastle scored late. The game ended 46-4.

The Tigers will be looking to start the game quickly like they did last week, and get as many points on the board as they can early. If they can do that, they can ensure the Dragons truly have nothing to play for.

Prediction
St George have beaten the Tigers six of the past nine times they’ve played, including the last time last year. But I can’t see them putting up that much of a fight and lately they’ve been looking like they just want the season to end already.

The Tigers on the other hand have everything to play for and they will come out swinging.
