Both sides are coming off surprising losses last week. Canberra were comprehensively outplayed by the Knights, while the Tigers managed to do what few other teams can: lose to the Titans.
The Raiders’ performance can probably be chalked down as a blip that any team will experience, particularly given how strong the Knights look this year. It’s harder to find excuses for Wests’ loss, and coach Michael Maguire has swung an axe through the side as a result.
Robert Jennings, Luke Garner, Oliver Clark and Billy Walters were all left out of the 17 that was named on Tuesday, but it was Benji Marshall’s omission which was most notable. The veteran had been one of the Tigers’ more consistent performers over the past couple of seasons, but he’s made way for Josh Reynolds at five-eighth.
Canberra had named an unchanged side, however they’ve been forced into a late reshuffle. Corey Horsburgh is out with a bout of gastro, the lock replaced by Sia Soliola in the starting team with Ryan Sutton added to the bench.
