It’s all gone pear-shaped for the Tigers after what was supposed to be a statement win against the Broncos four weeks ago. That 48-0 triumph had them primed for a finals tilt, but since then they’ve fallen to the Eels, Warriors and Knights – the latter two losses being unacceptable. With a brutal draw to finish the year, it’s likely they’ve already missed their chance.
The Bulldogs also dipped last week after a competitive three weeks. Nobody expected them to beat the Storm, but to lose 41-10 after they’d pushed Parramatta all the way was disappointing. Still, a win here and a Brisbane loss will move them off the bottom of the ladder.
Wests got up 34-6 in their match against Canterbury earlier this season, snapping a three-game losing run against the Dogs. Neither side particularly enjoys playing at Bankwest, with the Tigers losing their last three matches at the venue and the Bulldogs losing their last four.
