It’s do or die for the Wests Tigers and the Cronulla Sharks in a must-win match this afternoon in Rockhampton. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3pm (AEST).

Both teams are fighting for their footy lives in today’s game, sitting on 18 points – one win out of the top 8 – and clinging to the dream of playing finals footy.

The Tigers will be trying to keep the momentum going after winning their past two games, while the Sharks will be wanting to make amends for the past fortnight that they let slip through their fingers. They will also be wanting to keep their great record against the Tigers in check today, after winning six of their past seven battles.

Michael Maguire has named James Roberts on the bench, who hasn’t played since round 16. James Tamou is back in the starting side after being ruled out last week with a recurring foot injury, but will still need to pass a fitness test later in the week before taking the field. The skipper will replace Thomas Mikaele, who is out due to suspension. Jacob Liddle also finds himself suspended for a week, with Jake Simpkin being named at hooker.

Josh Hannay has his fingers crossed that a few of his stars will be right to play., The ongoing saga of Matt Moylan’s calf injury may come to an end after being named on the extended bench. Ronaldo Mulitalo will need to pass a concussion test but has been named on the wing, and Teig Wilton has been added to the bench after returning from a hamstring injury.

Aiden Tolman is out due to suspension, and this has moved Toby Rudolf to the front row. But the most publicised omission to the Sharks team is David Fifita, who was placed into an induced coma and required surgery on Tuesday after sustaining an injury to his larynx in last week’s loss to Newcastle. It will be interesting to see how the Sharks’ preparations have been affected after such an emotional and stressful week.

With so much on the line today, it will come down to who can handle the pressure of this must-win game the best and stick to their game plan. Both sides are away from home, living in the bubble and desperate for a finals berth – there is a lot of pressure going into this match. I think it is going to be a very close and gritty game, but I’m tipping the Tigers.

What do you think Roarers? Will the Tigers keep the ball rolling with another win today? Will the drama and emotion surrounding Andrew Fifita motivate the Sharks to get the 2 points? Who is keeping their top eight chances alive?
