The Wests Tigers host the Manly Sea Eagles in Sunday afternoon NRL. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 2pm AEST.

Off the back of four losses from five matches and poor results across the last two seasons, the powers that be finally moved on Tigers coach Michael Maguire, sacking the well respected mentor during the week.

Now the club sets a course on a new voyage with Brett Kimmorley at the helm for the short term and a more permanent appointment will be made in the coming months.

What that means in terms of performances on the field for a team that has managed just three wins from 12 matches in 2022 is anybody’s guess.

And the belting taken at the hands of the Bunnies in Round 13 alludes to something far more significant than just coaching issues existing at the once-great club.

Yet the Tigers will now move ahead with a new coach, and the Sea Eagles are the first obstacle in their way.

Manly are a club keen to continue to press for a semi-final position. After what had been a tough month of May for Manly, with three losses leading in to Round 13, they bounced back with an impressive trouncing of the Warriors.

And they remain sniffing around the fringes of the top eight as we head into the second half of the NRL season.

In team news, the Tigers were able to name a fairly settled line-up, with Kimmorley opting for David Nofoaluma on a wing instead of Asu Kepaoa, Jacob Liddle comes in at hooker, forcing Jock Madden to the bench, and Fa’amanu Brown drops out of the 17 all together.

Daly Cherry-Evans will not back up for the Sea Eagles, with Josh Schuster coming into the 17 at five-eighth and Keiran Foran likely to move into the halfback role.

Despite the significant loss of the captain, Ben Trbojevic comes back into the team a little earlier than expected.

And elsewhere, Des Hasler has a reasonably settled line-up that will be hoping to click into gear just as it did against the Warriors last week.

Prediction
Cherry-Evans is a huge loss for the Sea Eagles, yet Foran is enjoying his best season for a long time and is more than capable of taking the reins against the struggling Tigers.

The upset does feel as though it is on the cards, yet Manly should have just enough weapons to get home in what could be a high-scoring and tight affair in Campbelltown.
