The Wests Tigers play host to the South Sydney Rabbitohs, who look to return to winning ways at Bankwest. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:50pm (AEST).
Lottoland was an appropriate place for the Tigers to stage an improbable comeback last week against Manly, reeling in a 14-point deficit in the final nine minutes.
The win relieved some of the pressure mounting on Wests coach Michael Maguire, after a week in which his stock had crashed following reports of leaked honesty sessions and loss of the support of his players.
Souths backed up their disposals of Parramatta and Manly with a gallant six-point defeat to the Melbourne Storm. Despite the loss, coach Wayne Bennett will have liked plenty of what he saw from his improving squad.
The Tigers’ spectacular comeback masked some real deficiencies. Wests were nearly full strength, yet looked dead and buried on the 70-minute mark against a Sea Eagles team crippled by injury.
In their last six games, the Tigers have conceded 32, 30, 38, 28, 44 and 26.
Unless Maguire’s charges have learned how to defend in the past week, the Bunnies should have far too many points.
