'Our softest performance': Brad Arthur savages Parramatta

Parramatta Eels coach Brad Arthur has savaged his side’s performance after they were embarrassed by last year’s grand finalists Melbourne Storm.

The Eels were blown off the park, conceding 11 tries – including seven in the second half alone – in the 64-10 defeat.

Arthur described his team’s performance as its “softest” and told reporters he asked his players after the game why it had occurred.

The Eels were left a man down for ten minutes during the second half following a sin-binning to Maiko Sivo for a hit on Jahrome Hughes which forced the Storm full-back out for of the remainder of the game.

Arthur questioned the consistency surrounding the use of the sin bin after an incident involving Daniel Alvaro against the Tigers earlier in the season.

While Alvaro in that match didn’t return and missed the next week’s game through concussion, the official had opted not to punish the Tigers with the sin bin.
