Argentina will field a youthful line up against the USA as both sides look to score wins that are all about pride rather than qualification as we approach the conclusion of the group stages of the World Cup. After reaching the semi-finals in 2015 and the Jaguares making the Super Rugby final this year, Argentina will be deeply disappointed with their performance in Japan. After crucial losses to both France and England, they are heading home with one final opportunity to end on some sort of a positive note.

Mario Ledesma has chosen to make nine changes and will be looking to the future as he gives some less experienced players a chance to kick start the next phase of Argentinian rugby.

It’ll be an emotional time for some, especially Juan Manuel Leguizamon and Tomas Lavanini. For the distinguished Leguizamon, it’ll be his final international game while for Lavanini, he’s bowing out of the World Cup as a result of a red card and four-match ban.

Skipper Pablo Matera starts and will be wanting to end on some sort of a high so look for him and Leguizamon to dominate the Eagles at the breakdown and try and make plenty of metres for their team.

The USA won’t be a pushover though and will have taken a lot of confidence from their match against the French recently. Having competed for the first hour of the match they fell away in the final quarter and will be looking to put in the full 80-minute performance this time.

They’ve only made three changes to their side for this match. These changes do mean that fans will get to see exciting scrum-half Ruben de Haas make his first start after impressive bench appearances.

Whilst their final game against Tonga is more winnable, the Eagles might well sense an opportunity here against a struggling Argentina.

Prediction
It will be interesting to see how lethal a wounded Puma can be. The bet is pretty lethal and while the USA will bring passion to the match, they won’t be able to cope with the Pumas for the full 80.
