The Chiefs are running out of time to break their winless Super Rugby Aotearoa record, but snapping that streak won’t be easy against the Crusaders tonight. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:05pm (AEST).
Normally, the Crusaders going up against a winless side would be a sure thing, but this clash doesn’t seem quite as clear-cut as it should. For one, the Saders are coming off a rare loss – although that might just make the chances of them losing this one, and hence their second match in a row, even slimmer.
The Chiefs also have the benefit of home-ground advantage, and haven’t been playing as badly as their 0-6 record suggests. The pushed the second-placed Blues for the full 80 minutes last week, and in front of a home crowd they may get that little bit extra which you need to test the Crusaders.
There’s also some good news in the form of Angus Ta’avo. The All Blacks prop hasn’t played since January, and his return will be a timely boost for the home side against one of the most dominant packs in world rugby.
