It wasn’t pretty, but the Reds have recorded a 12-point win over the Stormers on Friday night to breathe some life into their struggling season.

The Queensland Reds host an up-and-down Stormers outfit at Suncorp Stadium in more Friday night Super Rugby action. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the game from 8pm AEDT.
Both sides are desperate for a momentum-shifting victory, after both were comfortably run down last weekend by superior opponents.
The Stormers were poor – losing to the Blues in New Zealand, and had a number of issues exposed up front, as their New Zealand counterparts destroyed them in the contact zone, and at the breakdown.
They don’t travel well – and will need to start quickly this evening against a very, very hot and cold Reds side.
The home team will be without Angus Scott-Young and Chris Feauai-Sautia, with Brandon Paenga-Amosa to start at hooker following some impressive performances from the pine in recent weeks.
Winger Jack Hardy debuts, with Sefa Naivalu shifting to outside centre where he pairs with skipper Samu Kerevi.
The Stormers have made a raft of changes, and they will be hoping last weeks performance was down to jetlag and a slow assimilation to new conditions.
If they can get themselves into a rhythm early, they’ll be too strong – but the Reds do play well after a loss. I think it will be close.
Prediction
The Stormers to lead early – and win a tight contest in Brisbane.
