The incredibly tight South African conference will take another twist when the Stormers and Bulls meet in Round 11 Super Rugby action. Join The Roar for live scores of the contest from 11:05pm (AEDT).

The South African conference has nothing in it across all five teams, and with the race for wildcard positions also shaping up to be a tight one, each and every match is getting more and more crucial with each passing week.

The inconsistency of the sides has been frustrating for fans, and the Stormers put that on full display last week with a shocking loss to the Brumbies.

While the scoreline wasn’t a blowout, they struggled with discipline and ball handling, throwing multiple chances to win the game away with both hands.

The Stormers had hammered the Rebels the week before though, and so predicting exactly what sort of performance they might be able to put on against the Bulls – a side they could batter in the forwards if at their best – is hard to predict.

The Bulls, rankings-wise at least, are at the top of the South African conference, but that has the potential to switch around in just a matter of one weekend.

They have been far from convincing across the last couple of weeks of rugby, but have come away with two wins from four games, which includes a 32-17 victory over the Reds in their last game a fortnight ago.

The bye week will leave the Bulls a little fresher coming into this contest, but given the momentum they were able to build in their last 80 minutes, the bye potentially couldn’t have come at a worse time of the season.

Prediction
There doesn’t appear to be much splitting the two sides, and the inconsistency on display in the South African conference throughout the season makes this one even tougher to tip. I’ll take the home side, simply because they are at home and looking to bounce back from what can only be described as a sloppy performance last weekend.

Stormers by 4.
