The Wallabies will take on Argentina in the fourth round of this year’s Rugby Championship on the Gold Coast on Saturday evening.

This game should be a cracking affair as both sides have so much to play for in their own ways. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 8pm AEST.

Despite the win last week against the Springboks, the Aussies will know that one swallow doesn’t make a Spring.

The weather might be balmly up on the Goldie but with the Pumas there’s still a big chance of the winter returning to the Wallabies – don’t underestimate the Argentinians… they are a genuine threat.

Wallabies fans will have been smiling after picking up the win against the South Africans and why not, a win is a win.

But the nagging voices in the back of their minds would have got louder and louder during this past week as analysis and reviews indicated just how average a performance it was from the men in gold.

David Pocock, Israel Folau and Adam Coleman are all back in the side and that’s a fantastic boost for a side that have struggled for go forward.

The Aussies have averaged just 400 metres per game in this Rugby Championship, the worst of any team and they only managed 253 metres against the Boks.

In the backs the combination of Matt Toomua, Kurtley Beale and Will Genia will need to click and be better than it was last week.

It’s a big move by Cheika to keep Bernard Foley out of the starting 15 again and it’ll be interesting to see if these three players can unlock the Pumas defence.

It’ll also be interesting to see if Genia can get the team moving forwards better. His service has become a little less slick and harder to predict.

Runners seem to be taking the ball standing still and the defence able to cope relatively easily.

While it’s news that Dane Haylett-Petty gets to keep his spot at full back – Folau will play wing – the bigger news is that talismanic leader, Michael Hooper, has had to pull out due a calf injury.

The skipper has received his fair share of criticism over recent matches but there’s no doubting that the Aussies will miss him. Pocock will lead the team in his place – not a bad replacement!

For the Pumas they have a point to prove up front. They’ve improved as a team for sure under new coach Mario Ledesma but he was not happy with the way his pack got “torn apart”, in his own words, against the All Blacks last week.

To remedy this he’s brought in new players into the pack include Santiago Medrano and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro.

The Argentinians put 24 points on the All Blacks last week (almost exactly the same as the Wallabies totalled in two games against the Kiwis) and they are averaging 26 points a game – much better than the Wallabies 16 points.

The Wallabies are the better side on paper but they are going to have to play well to get back to back wins.

Prediction
You’d expect the Wallabies to be favourites in this game and the bookies certainly think so, but this has upset written all over it.

Argentina to win by 5.
