It sounds as if the senior rugby management of all three nations need to go home , take a deep breath and sort out their domestic plans before meandering back into unnatural relationships with other countries. IMO why is it that as soon as pretty normal people get any form of management role in rugby they start to think they have a direct line to the almighty? It happens at local club level and then all the way to national level and beyond. As soon as people get on a committee they start thinking they are suddenly the world's greatest marketing strategists, financial wizards and schedule planners as well as having complete insight into the psych of people from other countries. Their petty squabbles and hurt pride become sources of grievance that carry over into negotiations. Why don't they all just shut the FU , pull their horns in and get on with what they have all failed to deliver in such a spectacular fashion over so many years. They can point fingers at their predecessors and everyone else (there is always someone else to blame ; their plans would have worked well if only they had the chance) but, surely if they are as good as they think they are then rugby wouldn't be in the mess that it is now. They let the lunatics takes over the asylum by thinking rugby success is just about marketing, KPIs, loads and loads of spin and other management BS - they forgot about the game's heart and soul. This is not just about SH or NH but goes for the whole bloody lot of them - IMO they are destroying the best sport in the world; for what, egos and stupidity. Sorry for the rant but god they p... me off. with their self serving statements which have been checked and verified by their spin doctor and gone through a committee before they say it. PS What I have written is of course In my opinion only.
