Samoan rugby players come to the aid of pitch invader tackled by security
After qualifying for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Manu Samoa were keen to celebrate their victory over Tonga.
A shirtless fan also wanted to join in the fun and jumped the fence to try and dance with the players.
That was before he was crash tackled to the ground by security who assumed the fan had other intentions.
The players saw it all unfold and quickly stepped in. While the security guard was initially pushed to the ground the player apologises and an explanation was later offered.
“I mean I understand the security guard is just doing his job, but he don’t [sic] know us Samoans.
“That’s how we celebrate and show respect. We join in dance and celebrate together. The players know this …”
