It was a hard fought match with little quarter given by both sides. After Scott MacDonalds goal on the turn Brisbane controlled the first half marginally. Hingert was giving Burns little room on the left for Newcastle and Boogard was giving Mitrovic some stick throughout the first half. Second half Jets tried hard and passed the ball fluidly at the back and in the middle third but never troubled Young in goal except for the final minute when Petratos, who had been a shadow of his former self, floated a ball to the far post which Roy O'Donovan rammed against the post and away. Roar would have been devastated for that to have gone in but should have sealed it earlier through Aldred and then Inman though Italiano did make a fine save at Inman's feet. This Roar side has come good at the right time and will worry a few of their more fancied opponents.
