Brisbane Roar meet the Perth Glory with another chance to kick-start what has been a disappointing season so far. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7pm (AEDT).
After a much-improved performance against the Jets in Newcastle last weekend, the Brisbane Roar will look to parlay that point into something more against the Glory tonight.
Perth enjoyed a day out against the Mariners in Round 10, with doubles to Andy Keogh and Fabio Ferreira, despite to rather bizarre broken goalpost that delayed the match for some 45 minutes.
This stands to be a tough test for the Roar, with the visitors keen to reclaim top spot on the table after being joined by Sydney and Victory who both won their matches earlier in the weekend.
Thomas Kristensen returns for the Roar yet they lose stoic defender Avram Papadopoulos for this clash and are still without Stefan Mauk and Brett Holman.
Perth are quite settled, with Chris Ikonomidis the only significant out. The young star will have hopes of making his debut for the Socceroos in the UAE tonight.
If Brisbane are able to recapture some of the early form that saw them start the season promisingly (and hit the target on the back of enterprising play) they may have something for the Glory tonight.
Unfortunately, that is a big if and Perth have been solid at both ends of the pitch under Tony Popovic. They show no signs of dropping off in intensity.
It looks like it could be an open affair, with Glory continuing to work the flanks and creating space more centrally for Keogh and company.
Brisbane will once again have Adam Taggart of their main man up front. After a hot start to the season, he and the Roar have gone cold.
Reigniting that spark could be the key to victory for the Roar tonight.
Prediction
Perth will win comfortably in this one despite the further improvement that the Roar will undoubtedly show. Look for a stack of goals. Potentially six.
