Wellington Phoenix will be looking to go a club record of ten games unbeaten when they take on Brisbane Roar at Suncorp stadium this Saturday afternoon. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 5pm (AEDT).

The Nix lie fourth on the ladder as the A-League enters is halfway mark, a feat many were not anticipating. Under Ufuk Talay, Wellington have confounded their critics with a string of impressive performances. The Roar come off the back of a 2-2 draw against Melbourne City last weekend, and are enjoying a mini unbeaten run of their own; with a win and two draws in their last three matches.

Brisbane will be without skipper Tom Aldred, the defender misses out after picking up five yellow cards and cops a one match ban. New signing Corey Brown was not registered in time and sits out. The Phoenix welcome back striker David Ball to the fold, the Englishman missed out on Wellington’s 2-0 victory over Western Sydney through injury, and may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Brad Inman will be looking to continue his current red hot form; the Brisbane attacking weapon has 4 goals in his last three matches. Wellingtons Mexican import Ulises Davila has thrived in the New Zealand capital so far this season, with his nine goals in thirteen appearances placing him third in the competitions top marksman.

Prediction
Brisbane will badly miss the organisation and leadership of Tom Aldred in defence. Davila, Gary Hooper and David Ball could capitalise as they seek a club record and look to consolidate their top four spot. I’m backing the Nix to edge it.
