Macarthur FC hosts the Central Coast Mariners at Panthers Stadium in Penrith, with both sides already in the top six and looking to advance further come the completion of the weekend’s matches. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:05pm AEDT.
The two combatants in this fixture could well find themselves at the top of the A-League ladder come Sunday night, should results fall their way across the weekend.
The Mariners have continued to show evidence of the hard work that brought such success last season under Alen Stajcic and Nick Montgomery has managed well in his opening rounds of A-League leadership. Despite a loss to the Phoenix last weekend, there was plenty to like about his team’s performance and the same could be said of the undefeated Bulls who knocked off Sydney FC with an early Lachlan Rose goal and some stoic defending.
It sets up one of the most interesting fixtures of the weekend and a huge opportunity for both clubs to cement themselves in the top six early in the season. Many would have questioned whether a Central Coast v Macarthur fixture could ever be so appealing, however this is and the winner will be flying high as the competition heads into the summer period.

Kurto is tops. One of the best A-League keepers. Bulls bought well. Possibly over the cap, but still purchased well.

There’s been a bit of luck on the Cow’s side of the paddock, but Central Coast look stronger.
