The Brisbane Roar can jump as high as second with a victory over the red-hot Melbourne City when the two teams lock horns at AAMI Park. Follow all the action with live scores on The Roar from 4:05pm (AEST).

Starting the day in seventh, the Roar could leap a whopping five spots on the ladder with an upset win here. Given they also hold an extra game on all of those teams, that would make them very tough to jump for a home final.

Warren Moon’s men are in top form, having not tasted defeat in their last seven matches. They have Riku Danzaki to thank for the extra two points in their most recent game, against Western United, his 94th-minute goal snatching a critical win.

City, though, are without question the A-League’s most fearsome outfit. They too are on a six-match unbeaten run, showing their steel with a 3-1 win on the road over Perth Glory last week despite conceding the opening goal. Scoring has been the key to their success – City’s 45 goals for the season is far and away the competition’s best – so the clash with the Roar’s defence, which has conceded a stingy, A-League low 18 goals for the season, looms as critical.
