The Central Coast Mariners desperately need a win as they travel south to take on Melbourne Victory. Stay in touch with all the action from AAMI Park right here at The Roar with our live scores page from 4:05pm (AEST).

This time last month, the Mariners were sitting pretty atop the A-League table. Now, though, they’ve fallen to fourth, two wins and two draws leaving them in danger of squandering their stunning start to the season.

The Victory have enjoyed a resurgence since parting ways with coach Grant Brebner. Last week’s gallant 1-0 defeat to Sydney FC followed a rollicking 5-4 triumph over the Wanderers. Another win here would see Mark Kean’s men jump four points ahead of last-placed Newcastle with a game in hand.

Mentally, second on the table is a positive lift in spirits for the Mariners. However, only the slightest of margins separates the top teams. Central Coast need to start winning consecutive games again to be taken seriously. Matt Simon saved their bacon! Melbourne, on the other hand, are not a team to be messed with. They’ve improved greatly recently & will give other clubs a hard time. Victory are back!
