The Newcastle Jets’ charge towards the top six has hit the brakes of late, while the Western Sydney Wanderers are hitting form and can still – mathematically – make the finals. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 5:35pm (AEDT).

Newcastle lost to a very good Wellington Phoenix side in Wellington last round, where a David Williams hat-trick saw them off.

Western Sydney hosted and comfortably dealt with a Melbourne City side that were frightened to shoot.

Last time these two met was Round 17, at ANZ stadium. Newcastle ran out 5-1 winners on that occasion.

Newcastle regain Ronald Vargas for this one, after he missed last week with a minor hamstring injury. The Wanderers have recalled Tate Russell and Mark Bridge into the extended squad.

Prediction
Jets might have won convincingly last time, but a lot has changed in two months. Mainly the addition of Mitchell Duke to Western Sydney, which has transformed their attack big time.

Jets 1 – 3 Western Sydney Wanderers
