Sitting in the relegation zone with just one point from four games, Newcastle United risk falling behind the pack.

Newcastle have suffered 2-1 losses in three of those four games, but they’ve broken losing streaks against Arsenal before.

The Magpies broke a 10-game losing streak against the Gunners in this fixture last season, coming back from behind to win 2-1.

Newcastle have issues off the pitch as well as on it.

Owner Mike Ashley has been accused of not investing in the club, and not backing manager Rafa Benetiz who has become a crowd favourite.

Benetiz kept Newcastle in the Premier League against the odds last season, but for Newcastle fans season feels like a lifetime away.

Arsenal, despite winning their last two fixtures, are still very much a work in progress.

Coming off a 3-2 win away at Cardiff City, they’ve proven to be very effective going forward but shambolic in defence.

For neutrals, that makes for some exciting football. Arsenal have already lost and won a game 3-2 this season – showing that the more things change the more they stay the same.

Keeper Petr Cech is obvisiouly uncomfortable playing out from the back and manager Unai Emery is persisting with him, despite having new signing Bernd Leno on the bench.

The game against Cardiff was the first time Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette started a game together this season.

With a goal apiece to their names, it’s hard to imagine that won’t become the norm.

Prediction
Newcastle can get at Arsenal’s defence and make them pay, but Arsenal’s ‘you score three, we’ll score four’ mentality feels well and truly alive at the club. We could be in for another thriller.
